Education & Background: Scott Gander received his master’s degree in Physical Therapy from CUNY College of Staten Island in 2000. He has worked extensively with pre and post-surgical orthopedic patients and sports injuries by developing unique protocols to address individual needs and goals. One of Scott's passion is returning athletes back to play after concussion injuries using SCAT 5, Child SCAT 5 and Return to Play protocol.
Scott specializes in treating TMJ, Vertigo, Sports injuries, Vestibular Disorders and Scoliosis. The vertigo techniques he uses are proven to provide 95% relief of symptoms in one to two visits. For other conditions, Scott utilizes a combination of one-on-one manual therapy, blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy, cold laser, electrical stimulation, graston technique, & joint mobilization.
Scott's passion for continued knowledge and clinical expertise has also led him to a certification in the treatment of scoliosis from the Barcelona scoliosis physical therapy school (BSPTS-C1) and a level one certification in instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation. He has published research regarding posture and effective strength and flexibility programs to improve daily functioning at home and in the workplace in Spine magazine, and continues to take additional classes to further his research and ways to treat patients.
