We work diligently to help the public recognize the symptoms of Scheuermann's through community advocacy. Scheurmann's disease/kyphosis is the second most common spinal deformity in adolescents (after adolescent idiopathic scoliosis) yet patients continue to find it difficult to receive treatment from a spinal specialist experience in treating Scheuermann's patients.  
It is imperative that spinal screenings of adolescents involve testing for kyphosis in addition to scoliosis. However, as patient appointment times with doctors continue to dwindle and school spinal screenings only testing for scoliosis, adolescents with Scheuermann's/kyphosis will continue to go undiagnosed. 

To help improve the public's recognition and identification of Scheuermann's, we have created 2 different pamphlets: 1 explaining Scheuermann's and 1 explaining the charity.

These pamphlets are included in our Care Package program and can also be obtained by contacting the charity. They are effective for explaining Scheuermann's to a patient's support group (ie. friends, family, colleagues), when provided to a medical specialist for patient education and their patient waiting room, and for a Scheuermann's Disease Fundraiser!
